FreeCO2ast project
Pioneering Zero-Emission Maritime Solutions
Innovative Collaboration for a Greener Future
Our primary objectives within FreeCO2ast are multifold:
- To develop and certify a hydrogen-based propulsion system for HAVILA Kystruten, capable of zero-emission operations over extended distances.
- To pioneer tools for simulator-based ship design, enhancing efficiency and environmental performance.
- To gain profound insights into fuel cell technology, tank and control systems, and safety philosophies.
- To explore hydrogen solutions across various maritime segments through our "Virtual Lab."
- To conduct comprehensive market analyses for maritime zero-emission solutions.
TESTIMONIAL - TITLE
Technical Milestones:
Our journey has led to the development of a robust 3.2MW hydrogen-based propulsion system, leveraging liquid hydrogen. Central to this innovation is a 3.5-ton LH2 tank, meticulously designed for maximum efficiency and safety. In May 2022, this revolutionary design received Preliminary Approval from DNV and NMA, marking a significant leap towards commercial application.
